Running a busy can be kind of scary, especially if you’ve never done it before. There are four things that you must do in order to be successful. Your success will not be because of some fluke, overnight miracle or by accident.
Everything that you do or don’t do will play a part in building towards your idea of success. You can either move closer to it or farther away, it’s your choice. Three are many small and large steps that you could take to set your business on the path to success.
I’m going to highlight four of these steps for you today.
Dare:
Dare to be great! Don’t aim for just okay or mediocre. Aim for the stars and you just might catch one. Many times we are capable of doing so much more than we think we can. Believe in yourself, because if you don’t then who will.
Develop:
Develop the courage to live out your dream and bring it in to fruition, even if it’s a dream that no one else has. Develop the skills necessary to carry out your idea and outsource tasks that you find unpleasant so you can get the ball rolling and keep it moving.
Develop and maintain the mindset that you are a winner, no matter what happens and strive to keep going. Falling doesn’t make you lose, giving up does because giving up doesn’t offer you anything.
Develop a plan that will be the vehicle to drive you towards your dream goal.
Conquer:
Conquer your fear of running into problems with your business. Get over your fear of becoming successful. You deserve success just as much as the next person.
Conquer your fear of the unknown. Don’t be afraid to dance to the beat of a different drummer than the rest of us. You are unique, let that be reflected in your business.
Apply: Apply the knowledge, skills and wisdom you develop to your business. Do this consistently while working your plan and you will be well on your way towards reaching your goals.

No amount courses you take, webinars you attend or coaching you receive, means anything unless you work to apply what you have learned. No one is going to work your business for you. Having a business means you’ll have to work but that work can be so rewarding.
Put Fear In Its Proper Place.

As a noun fear refers to the strong emotion that is caused by something that you perceive as a danger. As a verb fear is used to convey one being afraid of something. There are so many things that one can fear like, darkness, death, reptiles, crowds, germs, insects and large bodies of water. Some people even suffer from neophobia, a fear of something new or atychiphobia, which is the fear of failure.
If you are trying to start a business or want to push to higher level with what you are doing these types of fears can paralyze you if you let them. Feeding into fear will cause you not to ever do the things necessary to get your name and your business out in front of people where they should be.
Our fear of various things, are truly only as big as we let them become. We all have fears, but it’s how we handle them, that counts. We all have to decide for ourselves if we will control our fears or if we will let our fears control us? Many times our fears are so unjustly overrated and not even likely to come true and yet they hold us back tremendously. This is why fear is often referred to as false evidence appearing real
Fear kept me from opening up my private label rights content store, even though I had already bought my domain and had even begun writing content, until I finally decided to just put it out there and stop wondering if I’m capable of running my own PLR shop and I had to stop worrying about who might have been out longer than me and wondering “Will I get any sales if someone else is really good at the same thing that I do?”
I took the time to learn from positive influences and it helped me to feel more confident when I could results from the information I put to good use
Once I got past the fears I found out the answers I had been wondering about. Yes I am capable, yes I can make sales even though there are countless other PLR providers out there. But what if I never tried? What if I worried about what Susie, Tameka, Jenny and Bob were doing and I let it stop me. I wouldn’t be capable and I’d have no sales.
That fear wouldn’t have helped me, it would have hindered me because when you don’t try, you already know what the outcome will be … nothing.
When you try, you have a chance to succeed or can at least get on the right track to improve by taking in knowledge and learning from your mistakes. Messing up and making mistakes is not what makes you a failure, never trying does because there is no way to succeed at something that you aren’t doing. It doesn’t matter, how much you dream about or how much you desire it. Only actions, bring real results.
Unwarranted intimidation can be a huge part of fear when it comes to business. You may feel like you can’t do something because someone else is so good at it when the truth is that it doesn’t matter how good someone else is. You being the best that you can be at whatever it is that you are doing, focusing on your own business, clients or customers and always striving to continue learning and improve yourself and your business is what matters.
If you never try, you never know. Sometimes as business people or in our lives in general we have to step out of our comfort zones just a bit to get things done. Most things worth doing or having require some kind of work or effort on our part.
But what if something you fear does become a problem? Does it mean you’re over and through? That is when you reevaluate, tweak and adjust what it is that you are doing. If you don’t stay persistent and persevere when trouble arises, you’ll never reach your goals.
Remember that there is always something that could potentially stand in your way, but are you going to let it? NO!

Goals Are Pure Fuel.

I love this quote because it is right on point for anything that you are trying to achieve in your business or personal life. Goals are defined as: The result or achievement toward which effort is directed. Goals are things we want to happen, so we strive for to improve ourselves personally or our business to get our desired results. Many times the those two type of goals will intertwine or have a spillover effect, as what helps you in your personal life can also spill over into how you handle your business and vice versa.
Examples:
1. If you make a goal to stop procrastinating, that is a goal that will carry over into your business. Not only will you take care of things in the home when you are supposed to but if you are no longer procrastinating you will perform tasks for your business that you may have been putting off until the last possible minutes.
2. If you make it a goal to be direct and upfront with others. This is a goal that will not only allow you to fully express yourself with all of your family and friends, but you’ll also be able to deal with others you come across in your business. You’ll be able to say no when you need to without feeling bad about it or doing something that you clearly didn’t want to because you didn’t feel like you could express yourself.
3. If you decide that it’s time to schedule your business working time instead of working anytime you think about it, which could either be too little or even too much, depending on the person, this could also help you in your personal life. You will no longer not be able to get things done in your personal life because your business is getting all of your time because you will know the value of time.
Learning to do a little more in your business, if you aren’t doing enough could also help you to do a little more in your home life when you make that connection and fully grasp that actions bring results. You will work harder at relationships, building up your family and taking care of yourself too.
Are goals really necessary?
Goals are important because they help us to work smarter since we no longer swinging blindly, we have an actual target that we are trying to hit. Without them we are just haphazardly going through life or building our business but the more we laser focus our goals and tailor our actions to fit those goals, the better chance it is that will achieve whatever it is that we desire.
Like gasoline to a car, goals our are fuel. Without fuel or with just a little fuel, a car either lacks the ability to drive or can’t drive to the intended destination. Our goals increase our drive ability and propel us to do more. Goals are the difference between a wish and strong desire. you may wish you could be doing better in certain areas of your personal life or business but a strong desire will give your the get up and go to get it done.
Consistently keeping our goals in mind can help to spur us on when we may be frustrated and feel like like giving up. Sometimes thing s go wrong and you might feeling like throwing in the towel, but having a definite goal can help you to look past that moment. Has this ever happened to you? For a while you’re extremely motivated and raring to go and then soon you’re feeling down in the dumps ready to throw a huge pity party. Well, staying motivated is not always going to be easy. Everyone would be motivated all of the time if it were. But, that doesn’t mean that it’s impossible.
When you first started to build your business, you probably felt really good about it. You were filled to the brim with much excitement and your motivation levels were through the roof. Then after hitting a few road blocks, bumps and many unexpected twists and turns, your motivation may have went from full force to a slow leak or even a complete stop. This sudden turn of events may have you ready to give up as you begin to exchange positive thoughts for negative ones.
It happens and at one time or another, almost all of us have experienced these emotional roller coaster rides that can cause us to go from having fun and enjoying the ride of our life to being ready to jump off before the right is even over at some point in our lives. All that energy that we had when we started our new project can slowly trickle away from us and before we know it our confidence is drained, we begin procrastinating and finally just stop.
Has this ever happened to you?
You must find a way to banish negative emotions instead of allowing them to overtake you and learn to redirect them into the positive vibes that they should be. Being positive gives you an energy boost. You will feel like you can achieve anything. But, when we lose our motivation, we ultimately lose our focus as well as our direction.
It’s like being on the highway enroute to a place you have never visited before and losing your driving directions. Now you aren’t sure where to get off. The longer you ride up and down the highway, craning your neck, looking at every exit as if it could be the one, the longer it takes for you to reach your intended destination and if you are really frustrated, you might just might crank up the radio, turn the car around and go home.
When you are feeling like this procrastination is almost inevitable. You may begin focusing on time wasters just to feel as through you are still on track when really this puts you even farther away from your target or goal. In order to avoid this we need to learn how to react and how to control negative emotions in order to have the ability to keep going when we feel like it the least.
We need to stay laser focused on what it is that we really want. Think specific and keep it positive, avoid entertaining doubts and negative thoughts. Don’t be afraid to think big. Keep in mind that it really is all to easy to think in terms of what we don’t have when we should be focusing on what we do have and what we want for our futures.
Don’t focus on your fears, because they will eat you alive. Instead hone in on what you can do to overcome them. Fear of not being able to make it can cause you to completely stop if you let it. Just as a parked car will never arrive anywhere no matter how beautiful or expensive it is, your business will never ever amount to anything if you are stuck in a standstill. It takes you, revving it up, putting your foot on the gas and steering it for it to go anywhere.
If this is you, it’s time to turn it around. Work at your plan and if you don’t have one, you need to stop and develop one. Your success will never be an accident. You don’t form a major company by accident, you don’t become a top seller in direct sales or MLM by accident and you certainly won’t create good products that people want by accident.
Your plan should include realistic ways for you to reach your goals. As time goes on, readjust your goals, they aren’t set in stone and they should grow as you and your business grows. What you might not have been able to do six months ago may be attainable six months from now. Work your plan regularly because sporadic movement doesn’t equal and viable business plan.
Boost your confidence by counting your blessings and what you have achieved so far. You may begin to realize that you’re much more successful than you thought you were. Success isn’t just measured in money and it is truly in the eye of the beholder. Nurture and appreciate your strengths and move past your failures. It’s never over until you give up.
If you are serious about your business, it isn’t the time to throw up your white flag and give up or delve into a world of time wasters. A quote that comes to mind is “Never mistake motion for action.” by Ernest Hemingway because even though you can be moving it doesn’t mean that it is the right actions that you need to take for your business.
Not taking the right actions can be as bad as taking no action because it moves you farther and farther away from your target. You might know what you need to do but maybe because it didn’t work fast enough you have jumped on something else that also isn’t working. This can greatly slow you down. You must work methodically and not haphazardly. Create a strategy that allows you to work on your business almost daily. As time goes on, take time to analyze your situation, reevalute your goals and then plan from that perspective.
If You Expect Anyone Else To Believe In You, You Must Believe First.

Starting or maintaining a business isn’t always easy. Life happens and there are bumps in the road from time to time. Nothing in life is perfect, not even the best business. It’s how you well you handle these, hurdles, bumps and difficulties that will determine how well you do with your business.
I have had days where I felt grumpy and like throwing in the towel. In those moments I felt like just giving everything up and going back to just being a stay at home mom. I might have had some problem or another going on or maybe I wasn’t able to do something technical that I needed done and felt annoyed. It really doesn’t matter what the issue was, it was hindrance and causing me to be unproductive. It’s hard to get anything done when your heart isn’t into it.
Those moods never lasted too long and I never actually made steps towards ending my business. I really did love and still love what I do so why end something that I really enjoy because I had a bad day or some obstacle got in my way. Over time I learned how to deal with problems when they arose. What I have learned is that a problem is only temporary and there is always a solution even if I can’t see it at that moment. It’s how I choose my next moves that helps determine the outcome for me. My “Why” or reason for doing what I do keeps me going. Giving up isn’t a part of my plan.
One thing I see all to often in social media is people complaining that their business isn’t working in the very same spots that they are advertising in. They do this because they are frustrated and at those moments they may not see a clear solution so they let out their frustrations through status updates.
This is a huge no no because the ones that see you talking about how bad your business is going aren’t going to be hyped up to listen to your company’s audio, watch your video, sign up for your mailing list, join your team or promote your products if you run your own business, when you are showing them that doing what you do sucks and that your products don’t sell.
You must believe in you and in what you are doing before you can expect anyone to take you seriously or join you in your venture. Remember that while social media can be your best friend it can also be your worst enemy when you spew negativity out against your own self or business.
Know that you aren’t the only person who ever has a bad day. You aren’t the only person who has ever had a problem building their team or bringing in sales. You may think that you are alone but you aren’t. The difference in you who may not be achieving what they desire and one who does is usually training. Think about when you learned to cook or drive. There are steps involved and if you miss a step or two, it usually doesn’t turn out right but with the right training you can bake perfect cakes and casseroles or parallel park like it’s no big deal.
When running a business you need the right training for your particular business. You need to know about the products you sell or how your compensation plan works or what your product or service can do for your potential customers. No matter what type of business you have you need to utilize social media in order to gain a larger target audience.
Learning can make the difference in achieving your wildest dreams and not being able to make a single sale of your services and products, or not being able recruit a single teammate or sign up to your emailing list.
When you are having a bad day and you feel like shouting, virtually through social media to vent out all your frustrations, take a moment to just breathe and relax. Step away from the ipad, iphone or laptop. Stop everything and take a time out to get yourself together.
Ask yourself:
- Do I really believe in what I’m doing?
- Is there a need for the products or services that I am offering?
- Do I enjoy what I do?
- Am I unsure about all of the steps required to run my business?
Letting go of negativity will clear your mind and allow you to think better. Now you can find a solution and you didn’t ruin your reputation or the reputation of your business in the process. How you feel while in a bad mood could be completely different from how you feel when you can just breathe and think clearly. Sometimes all it takes is one negative comment about something to turn someone off from it altogether.
As the saying goes, you only have one time to make a first impression so make sure that the impression others get about you and your business is positive. Positive draws in where negativity repels. If you don’t think you can cut it as a business person or if you think that your business is horrible and you openly convey those thoughts because you are going through a rough patch, do you honestly think that your audience will believe in you.
Remove negativity from around as you as much as your possibly can. If you can’t get along with certain people online because you clash or they: make you uncomfortable, reek negativity, down you or even have wronged you somehow in your business, remove them. It really is that simple. Most social media sites have a block or delete button. Use it if you need to.
Learn to manage your time so you don’t burn out. Sometimes being overly tired can wear thin on the nerves and cause you overreact to a situation because you just can’t think clearly. Take time out for yourself and do something that you enjoy. If you worked a traditional 9-5 business you wouldn’t work 24-7 and you should do that in social media or your business either.
This is something else I have learned the hard way. I take breaks when I need them and I take time to do what I enjoy even it’s just reading a book, spending time with my daughters and husband or talking to a family member on the phone. I had to stop feeling that everything must be done in a day.
If the answer to question four was yes and lack of training is the reason you aren’t succeeding, this is something that you can work on. Find others who are successful in your field and learn from them by reading their blogs and joining their mailing lists to gain the nuggets that they may share with you.
Ethical marketers don’t want to just make money, they genuinely want to help others to do so too and even if they offer paid courses, many times they are teaching some things for free too, through their blogs and lists. Take advantage of that. Soak it all in. Take their courses that are appropriate for your type of business when you can. The more you can learn and apply to your business, the more good results you will see, that will allow you to invest further into your business.
Always strive to learn and grow and this will help foster a self belief because you will know that you are making steps to improve yourself and your business. You will see the results and your self confidence will grow and project to others. When you have believe in you that will show through in everything you do.
