Revamping, Mini Workouts, Being Consistent.

By Alice Coaxum
I spent part of last night and today revamping a one of my blog sites. It’s still a work in progress but I like how it’s turning out. From time to time I like to revamp my sites and make them a little better than they were before.
If you have sites that aren’t producing like they should or look dated, you really should take some time to revamp, it can be well worth it. I’m taking one of my sites in a slightly different but related direction so a revamp was definitely in order.
I decided to to hop on my recumbent stationary bike today. I’m truly convinced that it was sent here to hurt me. No seriously, I haven’t ridden it in a really long time and boy did my legs feel it. It actually felt better to pedal backwards than it did forwards. I’ll be taking little bike breaks during the work day to stretch my legs out. My goal is to be able to ride as long as I used to be able to.
I’ve also been randomly doing squats, another great way to get some movement in when I’m not doing a workout and I just want to get up for a bit and work my legs out. The bike and the squats are good little mini workouts.
I’m working on being consistent in all areas of my life. Scheduling has helped, especially scheduling more me time. I’ve learned that I’m not the energizer bunny, if I keep going and going I’m going to burn out. I’m not trying to do everything in a day. As long as I’m getting a sufficient amount of work done, I’m okay with that.
When you are consistently doing what’s best for your life, business, health or any other situation, you are constantly striving for that target, that goal, that mark and if you keep at it you will hit it. I truly believe that an overnight success doesn’t exist. It’s what I’ve already done and what I do now that helps determine my future success.
The same is true for you. What are you doing now to help your business become successful or more successful? What are you focused on? You can’t just wish for it and hope that’s enough because it isn’t. Only action brings results.
Your laser like focus can help see you through any obstacle that you may encounter because giving up will never be an option for you. Many people give up too quickly. You have to work your business with the right mindset. You have to believe with all your heart that it can succeed. You will push harder, hang in longer and do more to make it happen.
Are Regular Fitness And Healthy Eating A Part Of Your Normal Routine?
Posted by: | CommentsFor me it wasn’t at all. My life was as sedentary as can be and my diet was no where near as healthy as I’d have liked it to be. I was eating too much junk and fast food. I constantly craved it and felt like I had to have it. This isn’t good, especially when your business involves sitting for the most part. In fact it’s a recipe for disaster.
I do everything for my businesses from my laptop or phone. Being out of shape and in poor health is no fun. Who likes huffing and puffing just going up the stairs or having your back go out when you go shopping? Not me and yet this was my life.
I’m working now to combat against all the damage I’ve done to my body by not taking care of it properly. I want to be able to get off of my medications and do what I feel like, whenever I feel like it. I want to be able to walk around the zoo or a museum with my husband and children without my back going out.
I want to go shopping without my feet hurting. I’d like to be able to jog or run one day. I want my asthma to not be a hindrance to me and my heart issues to be doing so well that I know longer require medication.
If you work from home too, you just might be stuck or have recently slipped into a sedentary lifestyle too. This isn’t good for your business, I know it wasn’t for mine. I felt crappy a lot of the time and was struggling to make it through the day.
I’m currently being doing Rockin’ Body by Shaun T, which is also a fun danced based workout, I’m using a 8lb kettlebell, dumbells and being more selective about what I put in my mouth. Losing weight and gaining health involves so much more than just working out. I drink Vegan Chocolate Shakeology once or twice per day for the energy and many good vitamins and ingredients it contains. Because it doesn’t taste bad, I enjoy drinking it. It’s so much easier to do something when you enjoy it.
I’m making time for my health and wellness to happen because no one is or can do it for me. I want to look up a year from now and see so much progress that I don’t recognize the old me. Not only is this good for my family and for my health but also for my business, because I’ll have for energy and can go the extra mile. When you don’t feel well, everything is a hassle.

Stand Up To Fear And Successfully Work Your Business.

Always do what you are afraid to do. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Are you constantly?
- Learning about new things, but don’t fully invest yourself in the learning process so you can apply it to your business.
- Not putting yourself out there like you know you should.
- Not taking the technical steps that you know you should because it will bring more attention to you.
- Not stepping up to the plate when someone makes the first move, showing you that they are interested.
- Does fear making you drop the ball every time and not work your business the way you know you should and really could?
Having a business and promoting it online can be a little scary, especially if you are new to this. I feel a little fear most of the time when I try something new and totally step out of the box. Why would I do something that scares me? Because I want bigger and better results. I know that the only way to reach the extraordinary is by doing something I’ve never done before or by cranking up what I’m already doing another notch or so.
I’m doing this in my PLR business by trying new things, promoting and putting myself out there as well as with my health and wellness business. I made a decision to get my health in order as much as it depends upon me and after researching for a while, I made a choice to put my weight loss surgery appointment on hold and give it another try.
I initially decided to just be a customer for the company who’s products I am using because of fear even though I really wanted to be a Coach. I was embarrassed because of how much I weigh and how out of shape I am. I thought about for a bit and changed my mind. Why not me? Why can’t I be a Beachbody Coach? Others who were overweight have done it successfully and regained, health, mobility and look great while earning money at the same time. I took the leap and became a Coach. I’m stepping out of my comfort zone because I want better for me and others too.
What I do for my Beachbody business will benefit other people so to me that outweighs any concerns I had about how I look or how certain people may judge me. I had to take a second and get over myself to come to this decision. I’m sharing my journey with those who are interested and helping others every day now and that feels good because I know that someone is sitting there reading my messages and getting motivated and making changes.
I have a separate blog for my weight loss journey and debated about whether I should even share anything about my journey or health and wellness business on this on this blog. I shouldn’t be scared to write about anything on a site that belongs to me. This is my blog, so from now on, I’ll be sharing exactly what I want to and those who don’t want to read won’t and those who do will.
While I won’t be sharing the majority of my journey here because I have another site about it, I’m not going to keep quiet when I’m writing my blog posts here, like I can only speak about one thing, especially if it ties into the message that I’m trying to convey. No one told me, Alice you must talk only about one thing or the people who read your blog will no longer accept you, no one said that: but fear did. I’m not listening to it.
I’m not worried about haters, naysayers or judgmental people because they aren’t even worth my time. I’m so focused that they can’t even phase me if they tried. I can’t worry about what everyone else is going to think. I’m here for those who need and want to here what I have to say. Obesity is a terrible thing and will rob you from everything from your health to your mobility. I’m at war with my fat and I’m not going to stop until I win.
Mistakes are part of the journey to success:
Sometimes people are scared that if they try something, there is a chance that they’ll mess up. It’s true that you might make a mistake but hey, it’s not the end of the world. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, it’s part of the process of becoming successful. If you never reach, you’ll never grab the prize.
Fear of mistakes kept me from opening my own PLR store for almost a year after I learned how to do so. That was wasted time, time I could have been promoting myself and my products. Time stands still for no woman or man and if you don’t use it, you lose it. While I can’t go back in the past and kick myself in the rear and order myself to get over my fear and just do it, I can do everything that I want to do now.
When I first started building my list I was terrified. I thought that know one would sign up and that it was a waste of time and money but I was wrong. I was afraid of messing up, by not saying the “right” things. How did I learn that I was wrong? By one day making a move: I took action and started building my list. Something that I’m still doing now. I got over that fear. I don’t have to be perfect, I just have to be me.
I’m sure if you were to ask any successful business person if they have ever made any mistakes, they would tell you that they have. No one is perfect and no one knows everything. I may be knowledgeable in some areas and yet lacking in others which is why I always strive to learn and apply.
Learning without applying is like going big grocery shopping and then starving yourself. It’s pointless! If you mess up, so what … you just pick yourself up and try again. Go back to the drawing board if you have to, reevaluate what you are doing. Tweak and twist until it begins to work for you.
Letting fear win, will get you no where fast. You can’t propel your business to a higher level if you aren’t using more fuel and more force. No one can or will do it for you. How bad do you want to succeed? Is it a top priority or just something that slightly interests you. That’s something that only you can determine. Is your business important enough for you to take a leap or will you allow fear to stifle your growth?
Is there anything that you really want to do, but fear is holding you back? I want to know, share your feelings below.
To your success,

To Multitask Or Not Multitask, That Is The Question?
Posted by: | CommentsTo Multitask Or Not Multitask, That Is The Question?
By Alice Coaxum
Are you taking small chunks of time out of your day where you can just focus on one aspect of your business at a time or do you prefer multitasking? I’d love to hear your opinion on this topic. By nature I’m a multitasker. I think most moms are, but instead of multitasking with my business lately I’ve been working at performing one task efficiently, for my important tasks, at a time and I notice that I am able to get more done in a shorter amount of time.
It was easy for me to weed out time wasters, things that make you busy but don’t add one thing towards your goals. But when it came down to necessary tasks, it wasn’t that easy because I was still wasting time by multitasking.
All multitasking isn’t bad.
Of course there are things that I will still multitask on. If I’m riding my exercise bike for example, and I want to hear an audiobook on business or another topic, I’m all for that kind of multitasking. Or listening to a podcast while looking for stock photos, listening to music while cooking or surfing a social network or site just for fun while talking on the phone. There is nothing wrong with that to me.
For each of us the answer may be different. You may be able to multitask with no problem. For me it’s not that I can’t focus on whatever I am doing when multitasking, it’s that it takes too long. I’ve just been aiming to shorten the amount of time that I spend completing tasks while still being efficient at them.
What didn’t work.
When I first told my family, years ago, that I intended to work from home, they seemed cool with the idea until they realized that it would be taking some of my time. I’ll be the first to admit that I used to spend too much time, not achieving the goals that I had in mind for myself, a mistake common to many newbie because they think that the more they work, the more they’ll make. This “method” left me tired with a cranky family and no where near even in the same realm of my goals. I knew that I wanted to make money online but I didn’t know how.
I was pulled here and there and everywhere. Eventually I learned that wasn’t the life for me. I was working more than if I had to work a 9-5 job and with little or nothing to show for it. So I started coming up with a plan for myself and then I started working my plan and it has been paying off.
Making changes.
I started focusing and building my own business, weeded out time eaters like playing too long on my favorite Facebook games, unnecessary busy work, getting involved in everything under the sun that sounded business related and not talking on the phone while I’m working but yet and still I was wondering why things would seem to take me so long. Even though I had made progress, it still felt like something was slowing me down.
I would see other marketers recommended that you chunk your time on the calendar or use a timer. I’ve tried it in the past and have recommended it myself because it works and then I would go back to my multitasking ways. When you are your own boss, no one is going to tell you “Hey stop wasting time! There is an easier way.” I have created and used schedules too, and highly recommend them if you have a problem with buckling down and getting things done, but I would always find a way to do something else at the same time.
Why I multitasked.
I felt like if I were doing this and that then I could kill two bird with one stone but in actuality I was taking three to four times as long to complete even one task. I might be on Squidoo, Twitter, checking email and blogging at the same time which isn’t good if you are trying to save time. The going back and forth and then figuring out where you left off eat up a considerable amount of time.
When you buckle down and set a time to complete a task, you may find that you’re working much faster than you thought you could. It least, that’s how it is for me.
So now when I decide to do a task, it’s one task at a time only for a set period of time and I like it so much better that way. I don’t feel frazzled or pulled in a million different directions. Because I am able to finish things faster I can move on to the next.
The non multitasking me.
When I’m writing, I focus on just the writing. I’m not stopping to share something on Twitter, answering someone’s question, writing an email or surfing the internet. I’m also not listening to anything and I turn the television off. I’ve noticed that all the little things that you stop and do, really add up and I work much faster without the television blaring in the background. I tend to want to watch a little when it’s on and before you know it, some time has went past so that little time waster had to go. Now I only turn on the television when either: A. I can watch it, or B. I’m not doing anything important.
I’m able to add content to my PLR store, ShopForPLR, quicker than before because I can write more in a shorter amount of time. This is important to me because the more I’m able to stock my store with quality content the faster I am able to grow my business, since I’ll have more to offer.
Now when I’m reading a business book or am taking time to learn from some type of business course, I’m not pausing to do this or that. I’m setting aside specific amounts of time to do a task and then when the time is up, I go on to the next task. I don’t want to spend the whole day on just one thing either, so this is helpful to me.
I decided that I want to work without distractions as much as possible so it doesn’t take me as long to get what I need to do done, barring the fact that I’m a homeschooling mother and wife. That comes first, so if my children need some help or my husband needs me I pause what I’m doing. Because I work from home, my family does respect that I do need time to work, but this wasn’t always the case.
I’ve also been working on not feeling like I have to do everything in one day. Your thoughts can help or hinder you so it’s so important to watch the things that you dwell on. As long as I am accomplishing something every day that I do work, then I feel good about that. I don’t have to and I can’t do it all in a day.
I like having me time to spend reading or doing something else that I enjoy, like trying on new makeup, listening to music, talking on the phone, playing a game or just socializing online without having anything to do with business. I like spending time with my husband and our children and I can’t do that if I’m working every waking minute of the day.
While my family does respect my working time, because they know if I don’t work at all, I won’t make money since money doesn’t just fall out of my laptop or phone … though it would be nice if it did LOL, they would not appreciate me not being able to spend any time with them.
My husband and I like to talk, cuddle, catch up on shows on Netflix or Amazon, shop or go out to eat and I can’t do that if I’m busy all the time with work. My daughters like to talk, boy can they talk your ears off but I love it because they feel comfortable to communicate with me, some parents of teens complain that their kids tend to shy away from them or cut them out and I don’t have that problem.
They like to show me their new hairstyles, makeup styles (I get my makeup tips from them, I’ll admit it), drawings, books that they’re writing, videos they find interesting etc and I want to be able to spend that time with them, after all isn’t that why most people want to work at home, so they can control their own time.
I’m sharing this because as much as I like to think of myself as one of kind I know that I can’t be the only person that ever faced this issue of needing to manage their time better on necessary tasks. It took me a while to get this point where I can work without having to multitask. I still get the urge, but I don’t do it. If you are someone who has already weeded out time wasters but still feels slowed down then it’s time to look at how you are working, see if multitasking is the culprit.
Why Aren’t YOU, Your Biggest Fan?
Posted by: | CommentsWhy Aren’t YOU, Your Biggest Fan?
By: Alice Coaxum
Ok, so you have a business and you want to be successful, but is that what you are projecting to others? Are you putting yourself out there where you and your business can be seen as well as communicating to others? If the answer is no then why not?
Are you struggling with feelings of self doubt? Do you just no believe enough?
There are many reasons that people wont present themselves as bright or as knowledgeable as they really are. There is a reason that many hold off from bringing their dreams into fruition and they stall or never create products that will actually sell.
Now why would someone hold back and not do their best?
Many mistakenly hold out on doing their best because of:
- Not knowing how to carry out their dreams.
- Not investing in the tools necessary to make their business run smooth, so everything is chaotic.
- Lack of faith and confidence in their self, product, company or service.
- They feel that no is interested them or their product.
- They are too worried about their more established competition.
- They are scared of messing up.
- They are afraid of being successful.
- fear of acceptance by their peers.
If you don’t exude confidence and show others that you are worth getting to know and eventually doing business with, why should anyone take a look at what you have to offer? People need to see that you feel you are the best, they aren’t going to put confidence or spend money on something they don’t even feel the creator believes in.
Why am I even going to take a look, let alone buy if you aren’t even sure about your business? Show people the real you, the confident you that believes in yourself as well as your business.
Presenting yourself on social media sites:
Does your profile read like this?
Name: Nobody.
About Me: I’m okay, you might want to uhm get to know me but if you don’t it’s ok. In fact you should probably go get “whatever” from so and so because theirs is a lot better. Hope you stop by and visit me again. Please sign up for my list if you dont mind, you might be interested, but you can always opt out if you dont like what I have to offer. You probably won’t, so just forget about it. Sorry for wasting your time.
Who would visit a profile like that a second time. No one that I know of. Is your profile just dripping with a strong lack of confidence?
Of course this is an exaggeration but I want you to really think about the way you “word” the things you write regarding yourself. Do you sound sure and steady or wavy and unsure?
If you don’t believe in yourself, your abilities and your business with all your heart, you will never be able to persuade or convince anyone else to either, unless they really get to know you and see all of the good qualities and skills you possess, that you don’t see or recognize.
When it comes to social media, people are going to run across your profiles and websites, and more likely than not, they won’t know you, what you stand for or about your business. You have to show them something that makes them want to come back to site or give your business a chance to fulfill whatever needs or wants they may have .
Let the confident YOU, shine through.
Warmly wishing you success,
Alice Coaxum
