Turn That Hobby Into A Business.

A hobby is an activity that someone participates in strictly for the enjoyment, there is no requirement for any type of financial gain involved. If any money is earned, it’s just a bonus to the one engaging in a hobby because they truly love their what they are doing.
A business is created for financial gain. One can truly love their business and enjoy what they do, but the bottom line is that they expect to create an income for all of the activities that they are participating in.
Which describes your situation? Many with a business, will say that they choose the second option because they want to make money, especially those who work from home. Yet, all the while they are treating their business like the first option. They end up flustered and frustrated when they see that they aren’t making any money, which is the whole point of having a business in the first place.
There are many different business types and what may be a hobby for some, may be a business for you.
Here are two examples:
1. Some love to write, they write personal journals, poems and short stories that they never intend on publishing. It’s for their own enjoyment and the enjoyment of those they choose to share with that spurs them on to create more of this type of content.
But what if you write for a living? Can you run a business this way? Can you keep putting off writing on your blog or creating your content packs if you sell PLR or if you ghostwrite for others, or writing articles for directories if you use that method to help with your business. If you create informational products, can you just write whenever you feel like and hope for the best, never worrying about you ever finish a project or not.
2. Some love to collect things like coins, toys and comic books for the sheer love of having those items. They can usually tell you all about the item and if it is worth anything, but they don’t really intend on selling them.
But what if you buy coins, toys, comic books and other items to sell on auction type sites? Are you making anything if your living room, bedroom, dining room or basement is just piling up with products and no sales are being made. If no product ever leaves your home, then you aren’t making any money with this type of venture. You could have in your possession, products worth thousands of dollars but you’ll never see a penny if you don’t take the necessary actions to sell them.
Once you figure out which category you fall in, you’ll know whether to keep going as you have been or make changes if you’re not seeing the success that you desire.
Keep this quote in mind:
If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got. ~ Henry Ford
This means that in order to see a change, it means you have to take action in a different way then you have already been doing.
To your success,
